A traditional song from Hemşin, a mountainous region in the Northeast of Turkey near the Black Sea coast. This song is about longing for one's lover as she watches the season change to summer, the mountains turning green, and plums covering the tree branches in yellow upon the yayla, or mountaintop meadow. It is a love song to the Kaçkar Mountains. While the lyrics are Turkish, the artist attempted to sing in the village accent of the Hemşin people, who natively speak both Hemşin (a dialect of Armenian) and Turkish.
